  • The handout titled 'Mean Value Theorem' has been updated to include some exercises. Check it out.
Wednesday, October 22, 2014
  • Quiz 6 will cover the quotient rule, differentiating logarithmic functions (and proving the formula), antiderivatives, optimization with more complex functions, the second derivative test, inverse trigonometric functions, and limits involving e. Also, exercises about the mean value theorem like we did in class. Students must be able to state: The least upper bound property, the Intermediate Value Theorem, Rolle's Theorem, The Mean Value Theorem. Students must be able to prove: the derivative of a logarithmic function, the product rule and quotient rule of derivatives, and the Mean Value Theorem.
Monday, October 20, 2014
  • Quiz 5 will NOT cover the quotient rule. It will however cover all that other stuff: differentiating logarithmic functions, antiderivatives, optimization with more complex functions, and the second derivative test.
  • To practice those more complicated optimization problems, a short new handout is posted under the link 'More Optimization'. Check it out.
